Configure Devices

Basic Configuration Steps:
 

From this page, you can enter information on how eDrive will communicate with the "source" Device. 



The input fields in the Device Properties section will vary based on the type of device selected.  Property details for each Device Type are found in the Technical Reference section of this help file.

Device Properties    (For this example, the Device Properties for a Modbus TCP Electric Meter are shown.)
Device Name Enter a descriptive name that will identify this Device within eDrive.
Device Type Use the drop-down list to select the device communication protocol.
Polling Timeout The number seconds eDrive will wait for a valid reply after sending a request to the device.  If no valid reply is received, the point value will be set as unreliable.
IP Address The IP address of the Modbus TCP device.  ex: 192.168.100.2
Port The TCP Port number the device uses for communication.  For Modbus TCP the typical port number is 502.
Target Interval (seconds) How often the points in this device will be polled.
Pacing (seconds)_ The delay between polling of consecutive points.
Maximum Polling Threads Select the maximum limit of the number of simultaneous request that can be sent to the device.
Device Address The Modbus device address for this device.  This corresponds to the bus address of the device.
