End-User License Modes

The End-User License for eDrive software allows for its installation and operation on one PC or Server.  The license has these two forms:

Demonstration Mode:
This mode is intended for use in evaluation of the capabilities of eDrive.  It is not intended for full-time use and is limited to operation for only a limited period of time.  The Demonstration Mode has the following limitations:
  • Communication Protocols:  All
  • Maximum Total Point Count:  100
  • Execution Time Limit:  20 minutes, after which it must be stopped and restarted if its operation is to continue.


Registered Mode

This mode is intended for the full-time permanent use of eDrive and is limited to the features purchased with the license:
  • Communication Protocols:  One or more, as configured by the license purchased
  • Maximum Total Point Count:  As configured by the license purchased
  • Execution Time Limit:  none
  • Single PC or Server:  eDrive registered license mode allows execution of the software on only one PC or Server.
Licensed use of eDrive is controlled (registered) to operate only on the PC or server where it is installed.  Prior to registering the license with Facility Automation Solutions, Inc. eDrive will operate under an execution time limit.  Once the registration is complete, the license will be enabled to run without a limit on execution time.


How To Register eDrive:
  1. From the Program Files\eDrive folder (or Program Files(x86)\eDrive, depending on your installation), click the "edrive-registration.jar" file.  This will create a "key-request.bin" file.
  2. Email the "key-request.bin" file to software@jaxcontrols.com
  3. Facility Automation Solutions will process the file and email you back a "key.bin" file that will enable the features allowed by your license.
  4. Place the "key.bin" into the "eDrive" folder.
  5. Restart eDrive.
