When using Web Services to request Point values from eDrive it can be very useful to organize those requests into selected groups of points instead of requesting ALL Points or Points by Device.  Creating Point Groups within eDrive is often a convenient means to do this.

A Point Group is simply a convenient, logical collection of selected Points, regardless of their source Device or communication protocol.  A Point Group can be made up of as many or as few Points as needed.  When a Point Group is created, you assign it a group name that will be used when  retrieving the Point values via a Web Service request (see the previous section on Web Service requests ).

By selecting the Point Groups function, you can view and/or create Point Groups in eDrive.  

To add Points to a Point Group, simply drag and drop items from the list of eDrive Points at the left side of the page.


When done, select the Submit Config function to save your changes.
